Influencer Approved: Marble Effect Laminates in a Parisian-Chic Kitchen Makeover

When interior designer and entrepreneur Tanya (@home.style.interior on Instagram) and her husband Scott decided to renovate their kitchen, a modern twist on the classic Parisian café served the perfect inspiration.

Exposed brick, vintage metals and mid-century shapes set against luxurious-feeling wood, marble and panelling helped Tanya, who project managed the kitchen revamp, decide on her ideal worktops: Cirrus Marble from Bushboard’s Omega collection.

“We renovated our kitchen for the first time not too long ago, but I have never been happy with the result. This time round, I went for a bolder design and got creative by making my own art, blinds, table and a sofa with matching stool pads,” says Tanya.

“I wanted a warm kitchen space where we can all hang out, that didn’t feel too kitcheny… that’s a thing, right?”

Using a breakfast bar, worktops and matching upstands, Tanya and Scott have created a long run of worktops with a black inset sink, and free-standing island with induction hob and overhang, with space for barstools – creating the ideal space for their family of 4 to eat, drink, work and socialise together.

With a neutral palette of beige on the walls and warm black on lower cabinets, the taupe-grey marble effect of Cirrus Marble laminate worktops creates the ideal bridge between colours: small veins in white and details in black create a beautiful statement while the high shine texture and true square edge ensure a truly realistic finish.

Tanya’s mix of materials and textures play on juxtaposition to create depth: Bauwerk Colour limewash paint for a mineral effect on the walls, and of course the high-shine of Cirrus Marble worktop and breakfast bar.
