Greygreen Transform a Shower Room with Nuance Calacatta Statuario

Objective

Peter Kerr at Greygreen used Nuance panels to update and transform a first-floor Woolwich flat bathroom into a walk-in shower room.

Observation

Using Nuance in Calacatta Statuario, Peter recommended using Nuance panels around the whole space, safe in the knowledge the finished result would be waterproof.

Greygreen have used Nuance in bathroom renovations for years. Peter says, “I came across Nuance some years ago at an exhibition and have been a big fan ever since.”

Waterproofing and practicality are Peter’s favourite Nuance features. He says, “I always recommend Nuance as the best solution for waterproofing a shower as there’s no tile grout to deteriorate over the years, creating leaks. Plus there’s the guarantee.”

Using Complete adhesive and sealant gives your Nuance installation a 15 year guarantee.

The project saw removal of an old bath and dividing wall, and addition of wall hung toilet, bidet, two basins, recessed apertures and shower tray, behind which Peter ran carefully templated Nuance panels.

“All the pipework and electrics had to be hidden, so we worked out panel positioning and templated the Nuance panels very carefully to allow for the brassware apertures. The radiused edges of Nuance panels can be used in a recessed aperture to great effect,” says Peter.

Nuance panels are available in a range of options, so designers and installers can plan a configuration that works for the space, and use offcuts to add clever details like recessed storage and splashbacks.

To finish the bathroom, Peter inset an LED light into the top Nuance panel, used sprayed glass to create the splashback and laid Spanish tiles.

Outcome

The homeowners, Selwyn and Naomi, are over the moon with their Nuance bathroom.
